Do you want to know more about careers in academic medicine? Would you like to develop your network of contacts and support?


This event will provide a space for clinical academic trainees to network, learn about how to get a mentor, how to attract funding, opportunities to work flexibly and balance work and family life as well as develop strong connections with your peers and senior academics.

The event will be chaired by Professor Jane Norman FMedSci, Professor of Maternal and Fetal Health, University of Edinburgh, and is open to all trainees from Foundation Doctors to Clinician Scientists.

Speakers include:

  • Professor Jonathan Seckl FRSE FMedSci, Vice Principal Planning, Resources and Research Policy, University of Edinburgh
  • Sir John Savill FRS FRSE FMedSci, Chief Executive, Medical Research Council
