Do you want to know more about careers in academic medicine? Would you like to develop your network of contacts and support?


This event will provide a space for clinical academic trainees to network with peers and senior academics, learn about forming effective collaborations (including international networks), find out about mentoring with the Academy of Medical Sciences, as well as learn about the increasing opportunities for women in science.

The event will be chaired by Professor David Jones, Dean of Research and Innovation at Newcastle University, and is open to all trainees from Foundation Doctors to Clinician Scientists.

Speakers include:

  • Professor Patrick Chinnery FMedSci, Director, Institute of Genetic Medicine, Newcastle University
  • Professor David Adams FRCP FMedSci, Dean of Medicine, University of Birmingham.
  • Professor Bob Burgoyne FMedSci, Associate Executive Pro-Vice Chancellor, University of Liverpool
