Mentoring Masterclass - London, February

13.30, Thursday 02 February 2017

41 Portland Place, The Academy of Medical Sciences

London

This mentoring skills workshop is open to all mentees and mentors on the Academy scheme, as well as Fellows who have not mentored yet but are interested in joining the pool of mentors.

Our mentoring masterclasses are participatory and focussed on developing techniques, learning best practice and discussing the challenges of being in a mentoring relationship.

Registration is mandatory - please email Elizabeth.Benedikz@acmedsci.ac.uk to book your place.

As a result of the workshop, you will have a clear understanding of:

  • The roles of mentor and mentee.
  • How to establish and manage expectations.
  • How to deal with potential pitfalls in mentoring.
  • How to ask good questions, and give and receive feedback.

The Academy’s mentoring scheme is open to all postdoctoral Clinical Lecturers and Clinician Scientist Fellows, or equivalent posts, Springboard applicants and award-holders, as well as MRC non-clinical postdoctoral research fellows.

If you are unsure whether you are eligible to attend the masterclass, please contact mentoring@acmedsi.ac.uk.
