Amy Iversen was absolutely fantastic – an engaging speaker and role model for women in academia. I really enjoyed the interactive sessions. Workshop attendeeOur mentoring skills workshops are a chance to hone your mentoring technique and discuss the challenges of being an effective mentor or mentee.

As a result of the workshop, you will have a clear understanding of:

  • The roles of mentor and mentee.

  • How to establish and manage expectations.

  • How to deal with potential pitfalls in mentoring.

  • How to ask good questions, and give and receive feedback.

The Academy’s mentoring scheme is open to all postdoctoral Clinical Lecturers and Clinician Scientist Fellows, or equivalent posts, as well as MRC non-clinical postdoctoral research fellows.
