Council Election 2016 - call for nominations

The Academy President has called for nominations to the Academy Council for 2017.

This year, three members of Council will be completing their terms of office at the AGM on 8 December:

Professor Stephen Dunnett FMedSci

Professor Graham Hart FMedSci

Professor Vernonica van Heyningen CBE FRS FMedSci

To maintain the size of Council within the parameters set out in the Standing Orders, 4 new members will be appointed via this year's Council election, each to serve a term of three years.

Fellows are reminded that all Fellows of the Academy are eligible to stand for election to the Academy's Council except if they have just completed a period in office as an Ordinary Council Member. Further guidance notes and a nomination form can be downloaded from the right-hand side of this page.

Completed nomination forms should be returned to the Executive Director, Academy of Medical Sciences, 41 Portland Place, London W1B 1QH no later than 17:00 on Friday 30 September 2016.

Fellows wishing to informally discuss the role of Council or nominations are invited to contact Helen Munn (helen.munn@acmedcsi.ac.uk).

All Fellows will receive by post, in due course, a list of candidates for this year's election and voting papers. This year's ballot will be counted on Tuesday 15 November and the results of the election will be announced at this year's AGM on 8 December 2016.
