Invitation to tender - Daniel Turnberg UK/Middle East Travel Fellowships scheme scoping exercise

The Academy is inviting tenders to conduct a scoping exercise of potential developments to the Daniel Turnberg UK/Middle East Travel Fellowship scheme.

The scheme offers the opportunity for biomedical researchers from the Middle East to visit a research institution of their choice in the UK, and for researchers from the UK to visit a research institution of their choice in the Middle East. Eligible countries in the Middle East are Israel, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan and the Palestinian Territories.

The Academy has been offering 1-month Fellowships through the scheme since its inception and we are satisfied that these are addressing an important need. The first three month Fellowships were awarded in 2015 and we would like to explore the feasability of 1-year Fellowships. As such, the aims of the scoping exercise are:

  • To investigate the demand and implications of offering 1-year Fellowships and explore whether any other lengths of Fellowships (up to 1 year long) would be more helpful instead.
  • To develop an evidence base to inform future design and investment in the scheme.

Click here to dowload the invitation to tender. For further information please contact Dr Kelly Makarona, Grants Manager kelly.makarona@acmedsci.ac.uk or 020 3176 2161.

Tenders should be sent to Dr Kelly Makarona kelly.makarona@acmedsci.ac.uk by 17.00 on Monday 4 May 2015.
