Welcome

We are delighted to announce the 2010 cohort of new Academy Fellows! Many congratulations to our 40 new additions, who bring further excellence and distinction to the Academy. I hope you will be able to celebrate their admission to the Academy on 22 June at the Royal Society. The ceremony will include presentations from four new Fellows, along with Sir Alec Jeffreys’ postponed Jean Shanks Lecture on genetic fingerprinting and beyond.

We received an important commission last month from the Health Secretary, the Rt Hon Andy Burnham MP, to review UK medical research regulation and governance. Please do help us by responding to the call for evidence. You’ll see there are a number of further exciting developments, symposia and report launches detailed in this e-newsletter – please do peruse and forward to colleagues.
