Summary:

Through its Central Office for Research Ethics Committees (COREC), the NHS National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA) launched a consultation in January 2006 on implementing the recommendations of the ‘Report of the Ad Hoc Advisory Group on the Operation of NHS Research Ethics Committees’.

An email was sent to all Clinical Fellows asking for their views on the consultation in February 2006. The responses received from Fellows were used to inform a small working group convened to discuss the Academy response.

The Academy response was submitted to the NPSA on April 20 2006 and is available to download below.
