Summary:

In September 2006 the Academy responded to a consultation issued by a working party of the Nuffield Council on Bioethics on the ethical issues raised by public health interventions. The response was prepared following a half-day meeting of an Academy working group and focuses on the contribution medical science can make to the debate.
