46 of the United Kingdom’s leading medical researchers have been recognised for excellence in medical science by election to the Fellowship of the Academy of Medical Sciences.
15 (33%) of these new Fellows are women, more than double the percentage of female Professors in the biosciences.
The Academy welcomes the announcement in the Queen’s speech that the Government will bring forward draft legislation to establish Heath Education England and the Health Research Authority on a stable and independent footing.
