Elected Fellow 2001
Professor Steven Brown is Director of the MRC Mammalian Genetics Unit and the MRC Mouse Genome Centre at Harwell. He has made major contributions to the development of mouse models to understand the functions of novel genes involved in human disease, particularly in the area of genetic deafness. His recent work at Harwell has led to the development of a major new mouse mutant resource, including a wide spectrum of new disease models that will enable the identification of novel genes and genetic pathways involved with human genetic disease.
