Do you want to know more about careers in academic and interdisciplinary medicine? Would you like to develop your network of contacts and support?


This event will provide a space for early career researchers to network with peers and senior academics, learn about interdisciplinary medicine and academic careers and find out about mentoring with the Academy of Medical Sciences.

The event will be chaired by Professor Dian Donnai CBE FMedSci, Professor of Medical Genetics, University of Manchester. Registration is open to all trainees from Foundation Doctors to Clinician Scientists as well as non-clinical PhD student, postdoctoral researchers and Fellowship holders.

Speakers include:

  • Professor Richard Marais FMedSci, Professor of Molecular Oncology, University of Manchester.
  • Dr John Williams, Head of Science Strategy, Performance and Impact - Science@Wellcome, Wellcome Trust.
  • Professor Susan Wray FMedSci, Professor of Physiology, University of Liverpool.
  • Mr John Hammond, Senior Fellow, St James’s University Hospital, Leeds.
  • Professor Maria Zambon FMedSci, Director, Reference Microbiology Services, Public Health England
