Academy awarded first BIS grant

We are delighted that the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills will support the Academy of Medical Sciences with a programme grant in 2015/16. The grant will allow the Academy to continue its role promoting links between industry, academia and the NHS, and in making the UK the best place in the world for medical research and its translation into health and wealth benefits. The grant recognises the Academy’s place alongside the other UK National Academies, and will enable us to continue providing independent and expert advice for those making decisions about health research and innovation.

The Academy is grateful for its continued and longstanding grant in aid from the Department of Health and for the support from the many other funders who contribute to our work.
