National Academies to publish joint statement ahead of 2015 general election

The UK National Academies will publish a joint statement in early 2015, ahead of the May 2015 general election, outlining how the incoming government can secure the UK as the best place in the world to explore, discover and innovate.

The Academies’ Fellows are research leaders in academia, industry, charities and other sectors. Together they represent the UK’s research strength and expertise in science, engineering, medical research and social science.

The Academies (the Academy of Medical Sciences, the Royal Society, Royal Academy of Engineering and British Academy) have been working together closely on issues regarding UK research and innovation, including our joint statement ‘Fuelling Prosperity’, and our joint submissions to the consultations on research capital and the Science and Innovation Strategy 2014.
