Newcastle event on making connections to further your career

"Making connections to further your career" is an afternoon workshop to help clinical academic trainees network with peers and senior academics.

The event will focus on how to form effective collaborations and international networks, the Academy’s mentoring scheme, and increasing support for women in science.

The event, which will be at Newcastle’s Centre for Life, will be chaired by Professor David Jones, Dean of Research and Innovation at Newcastle University. It is open to all trainees, from Foundation Doctors to Clinician Scientists.

Speakers include:

  • Professor Patrick Chinnery FMedSci, Director, Institute of Genetic Medicine, Newcastle University
  • Professor David Adams FRCP FMedSci, Dean of Medicine, University of Birmingham
  • Professor Bob Burgoyne FMedSci, Associate Executive Pro-Vice Chancellor, University of Liverpool
